Short answer
- The CurseForge app is the platform's own app. It is free with ads, and CurseForge Premium removes the ads.
- Enzonic Launcher is free with no ads. It searches CurseForge and Modrinth together, imports your CurseForge instances, and adds a client mod, skins and server hosting.

Where the CurseForge app is stronger
- It is the official CurseForge client. Every CurseForge download goes through its own app, including files whose authors turned off third-party downloads. In Enzonic Launcher those few files need a manual download step, which the launcher guides you through.
- Enzonic is newer. Enzonic Launcher's installers are not code-signed yet and the Mac app is not notarized, so the first launch may show a system warning.
Where Enzonic Launcher is stronger
- No ads, no subscription. The launcher is free and shows no ads.
- Two catalogues in one search. Search Modrinth, CurseForge or both at once, filtered to your instance's version and loader (mods and modpacks).
- Bring your packs anywhere. Export an instance as a CurseForge zip, a
.mrpackor a Prism/MultiMC zip. - Play and host in one app. The Enzonic Client, skins with a 3D preview and server hosting without port forwarding are built in.
How to move from the CurseForge app
- Install Enzonic Launcher and sign in with Microsoft.
- Open Modpacks › Import (or Import in the Library) and choose CurseForge.
- Pick the instances to copy. Your CurseForge app installation is left as it is.
You can also install a CurseForge modpack zip directly.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use CurseForge modpacks without the CurseForge app?
Yes. Enzonic Launcher installs CurseForge modpacks from its search or from a CurseForge modpack zip, and copies instances from the CurseForge app.
Why does a CurseForge file ask me to download it manually?
Some authors turn off downloads from third-party apps. The launcher respects that and shows a manual step instead of fetching the file another way.
Is Enzonic Launcher affiliated with CurseForge or Overwolf?
No.
